How do Apartment Locating companies work?
There are two ways many apartment locators can work with you, they can "ESCORT" you (go with you) to the properties, which we simply call an ESCORT, or they can give you the names of a property and "SEND" you there by yourself, which we call a "SEND".
Many automated national apartment sites may simple show you SOME of the properties out there, the properties that will allow you to write down their name ON THE APPLICATION so they can get paid for doing nothing more than giving you an apartment list to choose from. While it may sound good to you, especially if they offer you a huge rebate (that they almost NEVER ACTUALLY pay), you need to be aware that you may not be getting a list that has ALL the apartments on it, only the apartments that may pay them If you WRITE DOWN THEIR NAME on the application. Then when you don't get the rebate check they promised you, they show you the fine print, and fine print it is...IF you can even find it of why they will not pay you.
